Questions

  • What was your pet’s name and why did you choose it?

My pet’s name was Flea. On the drive home, he started crying non-stop, and I quickly realized the original name I had in mind wasn’t going to work. I jokingly called him my “little fleabag” to soothe him, and somehow Flea just stuck. It turned out to be the perfect name.

  • What is your favourite animal and why?

My favourite animals are sharks and cats. Sharks hold the top spot because they are so misunderstood, and there’s always something new to learn about them. They remind me how important it is to keep learning and growing—not just about sharks, but about all species.

  • Can you share a memorable story about a pet you've treated?

One of my most memorable experiences was with the first English Bulldog I ever worked with. I quickly discovered just how wonderfully stubborn they can be! She had such a big personality and always kept us on our toes. During her nail trims, we’d give her big, comforting hugs while she barked like a seal—her unique way of protesting. She was a frequent visitor who never failed to make us laugh, and her visits were always a highlight of our day.

  • What advice would you give to pet owners to ensure their pets lead healthy lives?

Help your pets live happy, healthy lives by staying proactive with their care—spay or neuter them, protect them from parasites like fleas and ticks, and, most importantly, give them plenty of love and attention. A little care goes a long way in keeping your furry friends thriving!

  • How do you collaborate with pet owners to provide the best care possible for their animals?

I start by listening carefully to the pet’s history and the owner’s concerns, ensuring every detail is heard and understood. I share this information with the veterinary team so we can develop a gold-standard care plan tailored to the patient’s needs.

Using our expertise, we explain the recommended plan and its benefits in a clear, supportive way. From there, we work together with the owner to proceed with a care plan that everyone feels confident about, always putting their pet’s health and well-being first.
