Rachael has always had a passion for animals ever since she was a young child. Her first job with animals occurred shortly after high school when she landed a job in an animal shelter in Dartmouth, N.S. This job is what made Rachael determine that she wanted to work helping animals as a career. Rachael has some great educational assets she brings to our team as well. She graduated with a business management diploma containing a companion animal care specialty from the Dalhousie Faculty of Agriculture in 2014, and then followed her dream and received her Veterinary Technology diploma from Oulton College in 2018.
Rachael grew up in Ingonish, on the stunning Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. In her hometown she even had the unique opportunity to work at and assist in opening a goat’s milk soap shop – from which she has many funny goat stories to tell! Rachael has three pets that keep her company at home including her goofy and comical dog Otis, her sweet golden child kitty Hazel, and her mischievous and hilarious cat Brogan! In her spare time, Rachael enjoys spending time with her friends and travelling to Cape Breton to visit her family & sweet cocker spaniel Raven. She also loves going to country music festivals/concerts, going on road trips, reading a good murder mystery book & watching many Netflix reality & drama series.
The accomplishment that Rachael is most proud of is taking two trips to Costa Rica with some of our team members & other members of our sister hospitals to spay and neuter animals in need. During these “spay-cations” they all took part in spaying & neutering over 750 animals! Rachael is very excited to care for your pets and looks forward to meeting all our clients!
